Rosser and Clarke come to the “Clásico Félíx Sánchez”

The hurdlers Khallifa Rosser, from the United States, and Andre Clarke, from Jamaica, present the best marks in the list of participants in the men’s 400 meters with obstacles within the program of the Clásico Félix Sánchez 2022 this Saturday afternoon at the track Luguelín Santos of this municipality.

Rosser, 27, has in his dossier a record of 48.26 seconds that he only achieved on April 22 at the Clyde Hart Track & Field Stadium in Waco, Texas.

Jamaican Clarke, 29, has a “personal best” of 48.29 seconds that he achieved on June 9, 2018 in Montverde, Florida.

A total of 8 runners are registered to compete in the lap of the oval with hurdles, of which six are foreigners and two Dominicans.

The other four foreigners are Jamaican Kemar Mowatt (48.49), American Amere Lattin (48.66), Costa Rican Gerald Drummond (49.31) and Bahamian Shakeem Hall Smith (49.82). They will be joined by the Dominicans Juander Santos (48.59) and the youthful Yeral Núñez (51.64).

The 400-meter hurdles test is one of the most attractive of the Félix Sánchez Classic since it was the one in which the Dominican host of the event shone.

Sánchez was world champion in 2001 (Edmonton, Canada) and 2003 (Paris, France), as well as a silver medalist in 2007 (Osaka, Japan). He was also Olympic champion in 2004 (Athens, Greece) and 2012 (London, England).

Sánchez also won the gold medal at the Good Will Games in 2001 (Brisbane, Australia) and won the IAAF Gold League in 2002 along with Moroccan Hicham El Gerrouj, American Marion Jones and Mexican Ana Gabriela Guevara.
