Rosa Salvaje Actor Alejandro Landero Homeless With Pets in Mexico City

Former telenovela star Alejandro Landero, known for his role in the iconic series ‘Rosa Salvaje,’ has been found living on the streets of Mexico City. His current circumstances have surprised many fans of Mexican entertainment.

Landero, who was part of the "golden boom" of Mexican telenovelas in the 1980s, was recently seen sleeping on a bench. The location was MazatlĂ¡n Avenue in the Condesa neighborhood of Mexico City. He was accompanied by his four cats and a dog named Max.

A video circulating on social media, shared by the @LaRomaMex account, highlighted his situation. The account, which focuses on community care, appealed for assistance for the "neighbor actor Alejandro Landero."

Reports from TVyNovelas magazine indicate Landero was evicted after being unable to pay rent. He has also been without work for several months.

One local resident, VerĂ³nica HernĂ¡ndez, stated that Landero is seeking temporary shelter. She noted his pets are calm, often kept in carriers, and that he had been sleeping on the street for three nights.

Following the viral spread of his story, local residents quickly mobilized to offer help. According to El Financiero, Landero has received food, clothing, pet food, and even temporary lodging. Efforts are also underway to establish a bank account to gather funds.

Landero later expressed his gratitude on social media. "My name is Alejandro Landero. I am currently going through a difficult situation, a tough test, but God always shows you the way and puts the right people in your life. And today is proof of that. I want to thank you for the invaluable help you are giving me."

Alejandro Landero rose to prominence in 1987 portraying "Rigo Camacho." This character was the endearing chauffeur who nearly had a romance with VerĂ³nica Castro’s "Rosa GarcĂ­a" in ‘Rosa Salvaje.’ It was one of the era’s most-watched telenovelas.

His charm led to roles in other successful productions, including ‘Imperio de Cristal’ (1994) and ‘PasiĂ³n y Poder’ (1988). He also appeared in ‘Monte Calvario’ (1986) and ‘Entre la vida y la muerte’ (1993). Landero often played secondary characters essential to the storylines.

Throughout his career, Landero also worked as a host for TV Azteca and Once TV. He additionally taught acting and English.
