Ronaldo Sells Valladolid Stake to US Investment Group Ignite

Ronaldo Fenómeno is out as the owner of Valladolid. The Spanish club made the announcement just a day before their final game of the season. A US group, called Ignite, is taking over.

Valladolid ended the season at the bottom of LaLiga and got relegated. Ronaldo’s departure as owner doesn’t come as a shock. Fans had been protesting for a while.

The deal is reportedly worth around 50 million euros. Ignite’s leader, Gabriel Solares, has experience in Mexican football. He used to be the president of Querétaro and has ties to Pachuca.

Valladolid released a statement saying the deal still needs approval from the Conselho Superior dos Desportos.
