Roma strengthens its defense with a Spanish player

Versatile Spanish full-back Angeliño is about to add a new chapter to his extensive team history. According to the Italian press, the player, who has played for clubs such as Manchester City, New York City, Mallorca, Breda, PSV, Leipzig, Hoffenheim and Galatasaray, has reached an agreement with Roma.

Angeliño's rights currently belong to Red Bull Leipzig, although he was on loan at Galatasaray for the first half of the season. In Turkey, the Galician was initially the undisputed starter, but gradually he lost his importance. He wasn't even called up in the last five games as a mandatory buyout clause was due to be activated if he had played 20 games, which would have required a payment of 6 million from Galatasaray. Instead of making the purchase effective, the Turkish club decided to break the agreement and turn to Leipzig.

As “Gianluca Di Marzio” says, Angeliño’s arrival at Roma meets the needs of the Italian team led by Daniele De Rossi, who has sought to strengthen the attacking aspect of his squad. The Spaniard is known for his ultra-attacking style and his ability to deliver precise crosses, which fits perfectly into the game plan that the capital's new coach will implement.

I wanted to play in Rome

Despite other offers, Angeliño has prioritized the Roma project, preferring it to options such as Villarreal or Olympique de Marseille. Now the next step is to reach an agreement with Leipzig, which, like its loan to Galatasaray, would like to include a purchase option, although coach Marco Rose apparently does not have this in his plans. Unless there is a short-term change, Angeliño will join Roma's ranks, opening his career to a new chapter full of experience and versatility.
