Rohit Sharma Shubman Gill Asia Cup 2023: The Indian team defeated Nepal by 10 wickets and made it to the Super 4 round of the Asian Cup. Captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl first against Nepal. Nepal hit 230 runs on the first batting, after which Rohit and Shubman Gill played brilliant innings for Team India. Both players hit all over the floor giving India the victory. Indian openers have achieved many major records by building large partnerships.

Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill shared a 147-man partnership for the first wicket that gave Team India victory. This is India’s fifth-highest opening twinning for a 10-wicket win in ODI cricket. Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir hold the record for India’s highest opening partnership in a 10-wicket win at ODIs. Both scored 201 points against New Zealand in 2009.

Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan hold the record for highest opening twinning for India at ODI Asia Cup. These players had scored 210 runs against Pakistan in 2018. Rohit and Shubman’s inaugural twinning of 147 runs is India’s third-highest twinning at the Asia Cup. Rohit-Shubman has outperformed Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir. Both players had an opening 127-run partnership against Hong Kong at the 2008 Asian Cup.
