Prior to this year’s victory, India had won their first T20 World Cup in 2007 under the leadership of MS Dhoni. Rohit Sharma, who was also a part of that team, has become the first player from India to win the T20 World Cup twice, having lifted the trophy as the team’s captain.

Rohit Sharma Shone as the Best Batsman Throughout the Series

Although Rohit’s bat did not come out in force in the final, his batting skills in the semi-finals and earlier against Australia were notable. Virat Kohli, his teammate, made up for his poor run in the final by contributing a significant partnership, announcing his retirement from T20 Internationals at the same time.

With this historic win, India has claimed the T20 World Cup 2024, while South Africa had to settle for runner-up spot.
