Rohit, Kohli to Stay in BCCI’s A+ Contract Grade

The BCCI’s 2024-25 contract list is set to retain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the A+ grade. Both cricket legends have played a crucial role in the team’s success, and the board believes they deserve the recognition. Despite retiring from T20 cricket, they will keep their top-grade contracts.

Rohit led the team to victory in the T20 World Cup, while Virat also hung up his boots after the same tournament. The board values their contributions, and it’s likely they’ll stay in the A+ grade.

In February 2024, the BCCI categorized Virat, Rohit, and Ravindra Jadeja as A+ players. The A grade included six players, but Shreyas Iyer was not on the list. Iyer was left out due to his limited participation in domestic matches last year.

However, Iyer made a significant impact in 2025, scoring 243 runs in five innings. He’s expected to return to the central contract list. On the other hand, Ishan Kishan might be left out again, just like last year. Kishan hasn’t played an international match since 2023.
