Roglic will go through the operating room

This Monday, October 10, it has been confirmed that the cyclist Primoz Roglic will finally undergo surgery on the shoulder in which he suffered a dislocation in the last Tour de France after a hard fall. It was not the first time that the Jumbo cyclist had this mishap. The Slovenian was already injured in the same way in 2021, in the Paris-Nice race. This is why this decision has been made to avoid future shoulder dislocations given the scare that everyone took in the Vuelta a España when Roglic seemed that he was going to be champion but suffered that spectacular fall a few meters from the finish line.

This operation will have him out for at least two months, which makes him miss the rest of the season. The Slovenian is already thinking about the next one. Roglic at least sees it with good eyes since at least he is not going to have surgery in the middle of the season. “The arm will be immobilized for six to eight weeks after surgery and then I will have passive range of motion. Fortunately we are not in May or June”, assured Roglic at a charity event in Maribor last Sunday, October 9.

I have reached the limit where I have to fix these things in order to be stronger and ready for the new challenges of the next season. I respect everything they say to me. We will do our best to be on the bike as quickly as possible”, declared a Roglic who, after going through the same injury on several occasions, needed to put a solution in this regard. “It’s no secret that I’ve already been through several dislocations. It’s come to a point where I have to fix this”, added the Slovenian.

Roglic, at 32 years old, is looking for solutions to reach the end of his career in optimal conditions. Now he has to go through an operation that is not easy but, nevertheless, is the best solution to be able to perform at the highest level again. “I don’t want to think about what it means right now, but it’s not a small thing. They cut out a piece of your bone and move it to where the dislocation happened”, concluded Roglic.
