Roger Federer Praises Carlos Alcaraz: Calls Him ‘Incredible’

Federer Praises Rising Stars in Tennis

In a recent interview with ESPN, eight-time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer highlighted the impressive performances of young tennis players Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. Federer, who has won 20 Grand Slam titles, lauded Alcaraz’s victories over Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon last year and Roland Garros this year, calling them "incredible."

Young Talent Making an Impact

"I think the boys are doing very well," Federer said, emphasizing the growth of the younger generation. "Alcaraz at Roland Garros was fantastic, and his victory last year against Novak in five sets was incredible. I’ve played against Novak here and I know how difficult it is to beat him. That Alcaraz did it is incredible."

Federer praised Sinner’s progress as well, acknowledging the Italian’s rapid ascent in the tennis world. "I think they’re going to continue like this, and that means they’re going to play against each other a lot, and it’s going to be a great rivalry."

Tennis Legend Sees Bright Future Ahead

The Swiss tennis icon remains optimistic about the future of the sport, acknowledging that every five years, a new wave of players emerges. Federer praised the continued involvement of veteran players Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Andy Murray, who he believes provide inspiration for the younger generation. "That’s why I think it’s amazing that Rafa, Novak, and Andy are still playing on the tour, because it gives the younger generation a chance to play against them. If everyone retired at 30, that wouldn’t happen."
