The junior Christopher Rodríguez repeated for the second consecutive week as champion of the table tennis Rolling Heat but not like the previous version and he had a bad time in the grand final against Oliver Apolito.
Rodríguez, one of the most advanced exponents of the Máximo Morel school, once again imposed his quality, but this time he got complicated and was on the way back from a resounding setback 0-3, but he recovered, took advantage of Apolito’s exhaustion who won both first games, rebounded and triumphed in straight sets, a final 11-8.
Apolito once again impressed with his game, a combination of defense with points and offense, and despite losing in his first match in the group 2-0 against Rodríguez himself, he showed his competitive potential in the final.
The third position of the V version of the tests prior to the traditional International Rolling Classic, scheduled for September 9-10-11 at the Gran Arena del Cibao Oscar Gobaira, was shared by Ángel Cordero and Jesús Lozano.
Lozano fell in the semifinal against Apolito and Codero against Rodríguez, in a very competitive fair held in the table tennis room of the Student Center building of the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM).
In the group session of the tournament that involved some 16 players, Rodríguez and Apolito (group 4), as well as Odalis Gómez and Cesaly Polanco (group 3), Alvin Arias and Ángel Cordero (group 2) and David Vila and Jesus Lozano (group 1).
