Robert Lewandowski shone in a new goal fair to the delight of Barcelona fans.
The Polish striker scored another anthology goal on Sunday, after providing the assist for the first goal, with which he led Barcelona’s 4-0 win over Athletic Bilbao.
Ousmane Dembélé opened the account with a diving header from the heart of the box to Lewandowski’s cross in the 12th minute.
Sergi Roberto extended the lead with a shot inside the area at 18, a filtered pass from Dembelé, which defender Íñigo Martínez deflected to change his trajectory and went into the net.
Lewandowski capped off the breakneck start with his 12th championship goal after 22 minutes. The Pole received a pass from Dembélé in the area, made a turn to remove his marker and sentenced with a powerful shot up.
Ferrán Torres joined the list of scorers with a half turn inside the area from Dembélé’s pass in the 73rd minute, with his third goal of the course.
“We had a difficult week. We have redone well. We’re still fighting for the top spots”, said Barça captain Sergio Busquets. “We have been very successful in those ten minutes and it has given us peace of mind for the rest”.
Barcelona remains as an escort with 28 units. He does not lose track of the leader Real Madrid (31), who beat Sevilla 3-1 on Saturday.
Athletic turned 21 without winning at the Camp Nou. The Basque team stayed in sixth position with 18 units.
Lewandowski’s brilliance leads him to be the scoring leader in Spain with his 12 goals (17 in the season), but he also leads the number of assists tied with Rodrygo Goes (Real Madrid) and Mikel Merino (Real Sociedad) with four.
