Road Tourism: Ledesma marked the best time

The experienced Christian Ledesma (Chevrolet) obtained this Saturday the best starting position for the first series of Turismo Carretera, with a view to the final that will be held this Sunday at the Termas de Río Hondo racetrack, in the province of Santiago del Estero.

Within the framework of the sixth calendar date and with a damp floor due to intermittent rain, the 47-year-old pilot from Mar del Plata set a record of 1m54s726, at an average of 150.745 kilometers per hour. In this way, the champion of the 2007 edition achieved the 30th. pole position of his career in the most popular car category.

“This is very good because we come from the doldrums. We won our group by quite a difference and it was enough for us to take pole position. This is a boost of spirits and it serves to prove to myself that I can, and it also excites me, because there are many people behind you supporting you”, Ledesma highlighted on the radio broadcast of ‘Campeones’.

To complete the domain of the brand, Gastón Mazzacane (Chevrolet) from La Plata obtained the second time and Diego Ciantini (Chevrolet) from Balcarce achieved the third record. Further back were Valentín Aguirre (Dodge) from Arrecife, Kevin Candela (Torino) from Braga and Ayrton Londero (Torino) from Entre Ríos.

Julián Santero (Ford) from Mendoza, current leader of the championship, qualified thirteenth, and José Manuel Urcera (Torino) from Rio Negro, current champion in the category, had to settle for 31st. position.

This Sunday the three previous series will take place, starting at 9:30, 10:00 and 10:30, while the final, 25 laps or 50 minutes, will start at 1:30. At TC Pista, meanwhile, the first series was won by Hernán Palazzo (Toyota). The final on Sunday will start at 12.20.
