Rafael Santos Borré left a clear mark during his time at River Plate between 2017 and 2021, becoming top scorer under Marcelo Gallardo. Although his departure occurred with the passport in his possession, which could have made his return difficult, negotiations appear to be going well.

Coach Martín Demichelis' desire to strengthen the attacking front with a player with similar characteristics to Julián Álvarez or Lucas Beltrán has led to the consideration of Borré. The trainer also evaluates Facundo Colidio to fulfill this specific role.

Borré's impressive numbers during his previous spell at River Plate, with 56 goals in 159 games, underpin the millionaire fans' anticipation of his potential return and cement his position as one of the team's stars.
