River: Demichelis trained before traveling to the Libertadores draw

The technical director of River Plate, Martín Demichelis, trained the team on Monday at the Ezeiza property before traveling to the Copa Libertadores draw, and ahead of the match against Unión next Friday at the Monumental stadium, for the ninth date of the Professional League.

Demichelis, present tonight in Asunción at the Conmebol headquarters together with millionaire president Jorge Brito, led the training after the break on Sunday and in view of the work plan, with the start of the double competition.

With the favorable streak of four wins in a row without goals against which place it at the top of the table, River has seven games in 4 weeks ahead of it this Friday, and the coach must think about the rotation given the possibility of trips in the first dates of the Copa Libertadores.

For this string of matches, DT already has the team’s base in place and achieved good performances for the replacement in the last friendly, with players like Jonatan Maidana, Ezequiel Barco, Agustín Palavecino and Andrés Herrera.

Likewise, these weeks are going to be key for the development of Nicolás de la Cruz, with synovitis in his left knee, and Matías Kranevitter, who is in the final stage of his recovery from the ankle fracture he suffered in December past.

The River coaching staff is closely following the tendonitis in the right knee of Santiago Simón, who could not be part of the concentrations against Sarmiento and did not participate in the friendly in the 4-3 win against the University of Chile in Salta, last Saturday .

As for the team that will play against Tatengue on Friday, the variables are the return of the players called up for the FIFA date, especially Franco Armani and Paulo Díaz.

In any case, if everything is in order and there are no problems, DT’s idea is to keep the team that played against Sarmiento, which means that there would only be a doubt in the middle zone of gestation between Palavecino and Barco.

Thus, a possible eleven with the 4-2-3-1 system would be with Armani; Milton Casco, Leandro González Pírez, Paulo Díaz, Enzo Díaz; Rodrigo Aliendro, Enzo Pérez, Ignacio Fernández, Barco or Palavecino, José Paradela; Lucas Beltran.

With this scenario, the squad will repeat the routine all week long at the River Camp in Ezeiza, until Thursday afternoon they train at the Monumental, where they will be concentrated for the match against Unión.
