Riteish Deshmukh is all set to make his directorial debut with a film that’s already generating a lot of excitement. The movie, titled “Raja Shivaji,” is based on the life of the Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Deshmukh will not only direct the film but also play the lead role of Shivaji Maharaj. The film is set to release on May 1, 2026, which coincides with Maharashtra Day. It will be released in six languages: Marathi, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, and Malayalam. The movie is being produced by Jio Studios and Mumbai Film Company.
