Rishabh Pant will return in IPL 2024. Find out why Delhi Capitals said this

Rishabh Pant will return to the cricket field from IPL 2024. He will once again take charge of the Delhi Capitals. Delhi Capitals itself has said this. DC Management has said that Rishabh Pant, who has been away from cricket for almost a year, will definitely take charge of Delhi Capitals in the next IPL season.

Delhi Capitals management said that Rishabh Pant is currently rehabilitating at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. He is expected to be fully fit again by the end of February. However, his participation in the IPL depends only on the approval of the NCA managers.

Rishabh Pant was the victim of a tragic car accident late last year. He then had to undergo surgery on his right knee. Since then, he has kept his distance from the cricket field till date. Due to knee surgery, there are fears that Pant will not be able to keep wickets in the future. This is because wicketkeepers’ knees are subjected to more stress than other players.

On the matter related to Rishabh Pant’s wicketkeeping, the franchise has stated that Rishabh will do wicketkeeping in the IPL only if BCCI gives the green signal. Otherwise, he will only concentrate on batting and fielding. The franchise has also stated that he will definitely remain on the field and lead the team as captain even though he will not be the wicketkeeper.

It will be a full year since Rishabh Pant has been away from the cricket field. During this period, he not only missed the IPL season but was also only able to attend Team India’s 62 international matches this year as a spectator. His absence was very detrimental to his franchise Delhi Capitals last season. The Delhi team finished 9th last season.
