Rishabh Pant Slams Fake News Over LSG Exit Rumors

Rishabh Pant’s performance has been underwhelming this season. His team, the Lucknow Super Giants, missed the playoffs. After being bought for 27 crore rupees, he became the most expensive player in IPL history. In 13 matches, he scored just 151 runs.

A journalist tweeted that the Lucknow management thinks 27 crore is too much for Pant, so they might release him before 2026. The tweet said: “Breaking news, LSG might release Rishabh Pant before IPL 2026. LSG management thinks 27 crore is too much.”

Pant responded strongly to this comment. On his X account, he wrote: “I understand fake news gets more traction, but let’s not build everything around it. Little sense and credible news will help more than making fake news with an agenda. Thanks, have a good day. Let’s be responsible and sensible with what we post on social media.”

This tweet came before the match against Gujarat Titans. Lucknow scored 235 runs, and Gujarat managed only 202 runs. Lucknow won by 33 runs, but the team was already out of the playoff race.

Pant’s message emphasized the need for responsible social media posting. He wants people to think before sharing news, especially if it’s fake or has an agenda.
