Riot Games’ director Shaun Rivera confirms that 2XKO, a fighting game set in the League of Legends universe, will launch with just 10 playable champions.
Rivera admits this is a small number, but the team wants to get the game out as soon as possible after a long development cycle.
“We know the launch roster is small, and we’ve heard your feedback,” he says. “But to be honest, we’d rather get the game out now than hold it back until we have more champions.”
The Future of 2XKO
Rivera emphasizes that 2XKO is a live service game, which means new champions will be added in the future.
This approach allows the team to launch the game and then build upon it with regular updates.
Release Details
2XKO has no official release date yet, but it will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.
A new testing round is scheduled for April 18-20 in the US, Canada, and Brazil.
