Riot Games dropped a surprise video on their official Teamfight Tactics Brazil YouTube channel yesterday afternoon. The game’s director, Peter Whalen, made some big announcements about the game’s future.
End of Hyper Roll
The biggest news is that Hyper Roll, a game mode that’s been around for a while, is being phased out. Whalen explained that the mode wasn’t meeting its main goal: helping new players get into the game.
The problem was that players needed to know a lot about the game’s synergies to play Hyper Roll well. The mode also had different features, units, and upgrades compared to the standard game. Whalen said that the set 14, Ciber Cidade, will be the last one for Hyper Roll.

Whalen teased that a brand new game mode is coming in the next six months. He described it as a “completely different way to play TFT.” We’re not sure what it is yet, but it sounds exciting.
The Penguin Party event will also return to celebrate TFT’s sixth birthday. You can watch the full video announcement on YouTube:
This shows that Riot Games is still working hard to keep TFT fresh and exciting for players.
