Riot Disqualifies LoL Pro Summit for VOD Violation During Tournament Pause

Riot Games just dropped the hammer on a professional League of Legends player. Park “Summit” Woo-tae, the top laner for Estral Esports, has been kicked out of an important tournament. This decision came after Riot finished looking into something Summit did during a paused game.

The situation unfolded last Thursday, October 8th. Estral Esports was deep in the Promotion Tournament for a spot in the 2026 League of Legends Championship Series (LCS). During a match against team Disguised, a technical issue halted play for around two hours due to DDoS attacks. While the game was paused, Summit appeared on teammate Jang “Ghost” Yong-jun’s camera. He was clearly watching a video replay of his own match.

This clip quickly spread online. Riot took immediate action, pulling Summit from the next series while they completed their investigation. Based on the evidence, Riot Games found that the South Korean player had broken Article 4.3 of their Global Esports Code of Conduct. This led to his permanent removal from the competition.

Riot Games has concluded its investigation into Summit’s alleged competitive integrity violation. Based on the evidence, Summit violated Article 4.3 of Riot Games’ Global Esports Code of Conduct and will be disqualified from the LTA North Promotion Tournament, effective immediately. – Riot Games

So, Summit is officially out. Estral Esports had to play their last match without him. Streamer Shintalx, who was signed as a substitute, stepped in to fill the top laner role. Estral is set to return to the servers this Thursday, October 8th, at 5 PM Brasília time. They will face SDM Tigres in a crucial match, fighting hard to stay in the tournament.
