Costa Rican goalkeeper Kevin Chamorro has rejoined his Portuguese club Rio Ave following international duty but is anticipated to remain a substitute despite his absence from team training.
Chamorro, 25, was away with the Costa Rica national team for upcoming World Cup qualification matches. He was the last player to report back to the Vila do Conde-based squad. His international commitments prevented him from participating in Rio Ave’s training sessions.
Despite his travels, Chamorro did not feature in either of Costa Rica’s two qualification games. He is still expected to be included in the squad for the upcoming match against Santa Clara. However, he is likely to serve as the backup to first-choice goalkeeper Miszta.
