Richelson Peña stops Giants losing streak and defeats the Bulls

The Gigantes del Cibao beat the Gigantes del Cibao 3-1 in a game suspended due to rain in the bottom of the ninth episode at the Francisco Micheli Stadium.

The Giants, who remain in third place, reached ninth with that lead and after batting his turn, it rained until he was suspended.

The match was already official, so the victory was credited to the Giants, over the Bulls that occupy the fifth position.

The victory went to Richelson Peña (1-1, 3.42), Raúl Valdés lost (1-2, 2.86).

Pena pitched five complete innings of three-hits and one run and Valdez threw six complete four-hit innings and allowed all three runs.

The Bulls had beaten the Giants the night before, but tonight they stopped their four-game losing streak. The Giants helped themselves to a couple of errors by the Bulls to score two of their three runs in the second inning.

Carlos Paulino shoots a single to the left field and tows in Wladimir Balentien. Then, Tito Polo reached on the error of third baseman Rodolfo Castro, which allowed Paulino to score the second run and then Iván Castillo was caught trying to steal the plate, which he finally achieved due to another error by Castro.
