Rhea Chakraborty’s brother gets permission to go abroad, Bombay High Court grants permission

The Bombay High Court has allowed MTV Roadies gang leader Rhea Chakraborty’s brother Shovik to go abroad. Riya and her family were denied the use of their passports. However, Showik was now allowed to travel to Australia for work under several conditions, including that his parents had to hand over their passports to the authorities.

Showik, who like her sister is an accused in actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s drug case registered by the Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB), said she had to travel to Australia for seven days for work reasons. Showik Inderjit Chakraborty has been granted permission to travel to Australia from September 17, 2023 to September 25, 2023.

Shovik must provide full details of his travel plan abroad, including the addresses where he will stay and the mobile phone number where he can be contacted during the said period. Shovik will have to produce his parents’ passports to the Registrar (Judiciary-I) of this court.

Rhea was in a relationship with Sushant Singh Rajput before he was found dead at his Bandra apartment in June 2020. Her father then filed an FIR against Riya for abetting suicide and money laundering. The case was then transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Riya and Showik were arrested by NCB in September 2020. While Rhea spent a month in Byculla Prison and was released, she remained there until December 2020 before she was later released on bail.
