Housemarque is celebrating a milestone for Returnal, its action-adventure game that dropped four years ago. The developer just released a surprise patch that makes the game fully compatible with the PlayStation 5 Pro. This update brings a significant boost in image quality.
When played on the PlayStation 5 Pro with the latest patch, the game’s resolution gets a 2.5x pixel increase. This means the visuals become crisper without affecting performance. The developer announced the update on X, formerly Twitter, sharing a visual comparison to showcase the improvements.
A New Project in the Works
While enhancing Returnal, Housemarque is busy developing Saros, a new third-person single-player game. Scheduled for release in 2026 on PlayStation 5, the game is still in development. The team plans to share more details on the game’s story and gameplay mechanics soon.
