About 300 patients will participate in the pilgrimage to Lourdes this Sunday for the Assumption. This is a gradual return to normal after a 2020 edition in which they were unable to participate.
In 2020, the sanitary conditions did not allow the participation of the sick in the pilgrimage to Lourdes, breaking with tradition. This year, 300 of them will be present this Sunday. With 3,000 pilgrims planned, the event recovers its splendor although it remains well below the usual figures.
However, the reality of health is not forgotten. The organizers are very attentive to the rules even if access to the Sanctuary is not subject to the pass. “We remind pilgrims to be very attentive with barrier gestures”, recalls Olivier Ribadeau Dumas, rector of the Shrine.
