Retirements and Pensions ensures that by the end of 2021 it will grant 15,000 IDSS pensions

The Director of Retirement and Pensions (DGJP), Juan Rosa, announced that by the end of this year the institution plans to grant more than 15,000 pensions of the former Dominican Institute of Social Security (IDSS), as part of a plan aimed at solving long delays in the system.

He expressed that it is being designed and a pilot plan is underway out of about 150 people working on file review and of these, 100 are concentrated in the offices of the former IDSS, reviewing files day by day in order to do justice to people who have been waiting for their pension for more than 10 years.

When answering the question that, if in more than a year they have only granted 6,658 pensions, how is it that in less than three months they will be able to reach 15,000, Rosa answered that it will be possible with the plan they are currently carrying out.

The Director of Pensions and Retirements offered this information during the inauguration of a new DGJP office in the eastern region of the country, based in La Romana, action that is part of an expansion program of the institution.

Rosa stressed that the DGJP is closer to pensioners and people for retiring because they are the reason and the raw material of the institution throughout the country. He added that the opening of this office arises as a response to the demands of the municipalities of La Romana, of the union sectors, since every day the portfolio of users, pensioners and people on pension is growing.
