Restaurant tickets: the ceiling of 38 euros extended by six months

The doubling of the daily ceiling for restaurant vouchers (restaurant vouchers, lunch vouchers, etc.) used in restaurants, increased from 19 euros to 38 euros to support the sector’s activity in the midst of a health crisis, is extended by six months until February 28, 2022, announced Bercy this Tuesday, August 24.

A decree is due to be published in the Official Journal in the coming days on these measures, according to the magazine Capital.

Thus, until February 28, 2022, it will still be possible to pay 38 euros in restaurant tickets, including Sundays on public holidays. The payment ceiling will nevertheless remain at 19 euros in supermarkets and food stores, the latter not having been affected by the raising of the ceiling, remaining at a maximum of 19 euros.

In addition, restaurant vouchers for the year 2020 will no longer be valid from September 1. Their validity had been extended until the end of the summer. It will nevertheless be possible to exchange them for free, until September 15, for 2021 securities valid until February 2022.

This exchange is carried out automatically for certain companies.
