Resignation of Liz Truss: the influential Minister of Defense “leans” for Boris Johnson as the new British Prime Minister

Boris Johnson soon to return to the head of the United Kingdom? British Defense Minister Ben Wallace, heavyweight of the Conservative majority, announced on Friday 21 October that he “leaned” for the ex-Prime Minister to replace Liz Truss at 10 Downing Street.

Ben Wallace, considered the most popular minister within the party base, again ruled out running himself in the race. The Minister said that, particularly given the measures Boris Johnson had taken for the security of the country, he “lean” for his former boss. “But you know, there are still several days left, we will see what happens”he however tempered on television.

No officially declared candidate

No candidate has yet officially declared himself for this internal Conservative Party election. But according to the British press, Boris Johnson is ready to enter the arena. A little over three months ago, the curator was forced to resign following an accumulation of scandals. The new British Prime Minister will be known by October 28 to replace Liz Truss.
