We all know Duolingo. That green bird, Duo, has a reputation for being quite persistent. It nags you, sending reminders if you skip your language lessons. It turns out, that friendly owl might be more intense than we thought.

The official Japanese X account for Resident Evil game news, known as Resident Evil Portal, shared something surprising. They posted an image introducing a “new modified bio-weapon.” And guess who it was? None other than the green bird from Duolingo. This popular language learning app is known by pretty much everyone. The post came with a clear message: “Our new modified weapon. Go forth and spread language teaching throughout the world.” This was reported by Automaton Media.
It wasn’t just a single picture, either. The Resident Evil Portal account shared several posts. In one, the Duolingo bird shows up dressed like Mr. X, that scary monster from the games. It stands right behind Leon, a famous character, and asks, “Leon, you haven’t studied a single lesson today, have you?” These posts really seem to encourage players to get back to their language lessons with the green bird.
It makes you wonder, if you actually miss a day of studying, will a giant, muscular green bird come hunting you down? It seems if you haven’t studied your language today, the green bird might just peck your head.
