The spotlight is back on popular South Indian cinema actor Darshan. The Supreme Court just made a significant decision. It canceled the bail granted to Darshan and actress Pavitra Gowda. Both are involved in the serious Renukaswamy murder case. Now, actress and former politician Ramya, also known as Divya Spandana, has shared her thoughts on the matter.
Ramya Speaks Out
Ramya reacted openly to the Supreme Court’s ruling. She took to Instagram to share her statement. In her post, she praised the court’s decision. Ramya wrote that this ruling sends a strong message. It shows that the law is truly the same for everyone. She encouraged people to keep their trust in the legal system. Ramya asked everyone to rely on the process of justice and not to take matters into their own hands.
Ramya also shared a deeper thought in her message. She noted that the path to justice can be tough and long. However, she believes that justice will always be served in the end. She urged young people and her followers to use lawful methods. She asked them to avoid violence or feelings of revenge.
The Renukaswamy Murder Case
This troubling case dates back to June 2024. A 33-year-old man named Renukaswamy vanished in Bengaluru. He was reportedly a fan of actress Pavitra Gowda. Police claim that Renukaswamy sent objectionable messages to Gowda. After this, Darshan and his friends allegedly kidnapped him. They held him captive in a warehouse for three days. During this time, he was brutally tortured.
Sadly, Renukaswamy died after three days of this torment. His body was then found dumped in a drain in Bengaluru. Police quickly understood the serious nature of the case. They filed charges of murder, kidnapping, and conspiracy. Many individuals were arrested as part of the investigation.
Supreme Court’s Firm Stand
Initially, the Karnataka High Court had granted bail to Darshan and Pavitra in this case. But the victim’s family was not satisfied. They took their appeal to the Supreme Court. A bench of judges, Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice R Mahadevan, reviewed the bail order. They stated that the High Court’s order had many legal flaws. The Supreme Court then canceled the bail for Darshan and Pavitra. They ordered that Darshan and the other accused be taken into custody immediately. The court also stressed that the trial must happen quickly. This ensures that the victim gets justice without delay.
