Gen Z employees are getting a bad rap online. You’ve probably seen posts about how they’re entitled, argumentative, or lack work ethic. But Reid Hoffman, co-founder of LinkedIn, thinks it’s time to flip that script. According to him, Gen Z’s got a major strength that’s making them super attractive to employers: they’re ridiculously good at using AI.
Research from KPMG found that around 66% of Gen Z are already using AI, and a whopping 83% believe it can deliver solid results. Growing up with tech, they’ve got a innate understanding of AI that’s like second nature. In fact, they’re so comfortable with it that they could teach older colleagues a thing or two.
Dr. Fabian Stephany, an AI and work expert from Oxford University, shared some interesting findings from the Skill Scale Project in Newsweek. It turns out that people who use Generative AI in their daily work can earn up to 23% more on average. They’re also more likely to get sweet perks like paid parental leave. This is a win for workers of all ages, but especially for Gen Z.
Now, just because Gen Z is tech-savvy doesn’t mean they’re automatically AI experts. They still need guidance and training to get the most out of their AI skills. But with the right support, they could be unstoppable.
