Reem Shaikh Criticized for Using Phone at Haram Sharif

Reem Shaikh and Jannat Zubair, two actresses and close friends, recently embarked on a spiritual journey to Medina for Umrah. The duo, who also starred together in “Laughter Chef,” shared photos from their trip, giving their fans a glimpse into their adventures.

Several videos of the pair have gone viral, showcasing their time in the holy city. In one clip, Jannat is seen sitting and reading in Arabic, while Reem is nearby, scrolling through her phone.

Their fans are thrilled to see the friends exploring the city, but Reem has faced criticism for her actions. Many have expressed disappointment, questioning why she was using her phone in such a sacred place. One user commented, “What’s the point of going there if you’re just going to be on your phone?” Others have echoed similar sentiments, wondering if she’s truly present in the moment.

In a previous interview, Jannat reflected on her first experience with fasting during Ramadan. She recalled, “I started keeping roza when I was around 11 or 12 years old. During the shoot of Maharana Pratap in 2014, we were on set in Aamgaon for the entire month of Ramadan. It was a beautiful experience, especially during iftar in the evenings when everyone would gather and ask us what we wanted to eat.”

Reem has also spoken about her growing faith, stating, “If you had met me four years ago, I would have been a different person. Now, I’m completely changed. I was lost, but Allah guided me towards the right path. Many things have happened in my life that I’ll remember until my last breath.”
