Redmi Turbo 5 to Feature Dimensity 8500 With Over 2M AnTuTu Score

MediaTek is gearing up to launch a pair of new chipsets. One is the powerful Dimensity 9500, set to power high-end phones like OPPO’s Find X3000 series. But the real buzz is around the Dimensity 8500, a chip aimed at making mid-range smartphones feel much faster.

A well-known tipster from China, Digital Chat Station, shared some interesting details on Weibo. This insider revealed that the Dimensity 8500 will be made using TSMC’s advanced 4-nanometer technology. It will keep the same core processor setup as the Dimensity 8400, which also uses 4nm tech and hits speeds up to 3.25 GHz.

The big upgrade comes in the graphics department. The new chip will feature a Mali-G720 graphics processor. This new GPU promises a clear boost in performance compared to its predecessor. Gamers and app users should notice the difference.

Digital Chat Station also reported that the Dimensity 8500 has been put through its paces. It was tested on AnTuTu, a popular platform for checking smartphone performance. The chip scored over 2 million points, which is quite impressive for a mid-range offering. This score puts it in a strong position for future devices.

The first phone expected to use the Dimensity 8500 is Xiaomi’s Redmi Turbo 5. This device is slated to launch in late 2025 or January 2026. Reports suggest the Redmi Turbo 5 will be rebranded as the Poco X8 Pro for its global debut. This worldwide release is also expected in January 2026.

Digital Chat Station added more to the story. Other major phone makers are also planning to adopt the Dimensity 8500. These include Honor, Ouga Group (which covers OPPO, OnePlus, and realme), and iQOO. This shows wide industry interest in MediaTek’s new mid-range chip.

Currently, the Dimensity 8400 powers several strong mid-range phones. Examples include the realme Neo 7 SE and the iQOO Z10 Turbo. Both of these models are set to get an upgrade. They will feature the Dimensity 8500 in their 2026 releases. Insider sources even claim that these updated phones will come with sleek metal frames.
