Redmi Pad 2 Launched with 90Hz Display and 9000mAh Battery

The tablet market just got a little more interesting with the arrival of the Redmi Pad 2. This is the second-generation tablet from Redmi, a sub-brand of Xiaomi, and it’s clear they’re aiming to make a bigger splash globally.

So, what’s new? For starters, the Redmi Pad 2 boasts an 11-inch LCD screen with IPS technology, which means you get more vivid colors and better contrast. The resolution is a decent 2560 x 1600 pixels, and it peaks at 600 nits of brightness. But what really catches the eye is the 90Hz refresh rate – that’s a big jump from the standard 60Hz, and it makes for silky-smooth visuals.

You can also use the Redmi Smart Pen stylus with this tablet, which is a nice touch. The front camera has a 5-megapixel sensor, while the rear camera has an 8-megapixel sensor. Not bad for a budget-friendly tablet.

Under the hood, the Redmi Pad 2 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G100 Ultra chip, which is built on a 6-nanometer process and has a top speed of 2.2 GHz. That’s plenty of oomph for everyday tasks. This chip is similar to the Helio G99 in the first Redmi Pad, and it’s paired with either 4GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage. You can also expand the storage with a microSD card up to 2TB.

The tablet runs on HyperOS 2, which is based on Android 15. This means you get all the features you need to store and manage your apps, photos, and documents. And with a massive 9000mAh battery, you can use it all day without needing to recharge. The battery is a nice upgrade from the 8000mAh cell in the previous model, and it supports 18W fast charging via USB-C.

The Redmi Pad 2 comes in three colors: Graphite Gray, Mint Green, and Lavender Purple. The Wi-Fi version starts at £169 (around 4/128GB) and goes up to £219 (around 8/256GB). The 4G version starts at £219 (around 4/128GB) and tops out at £259 (around 8/256GB).
