Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has built a reputation for offering high-end features at prices that don’t empty your wallet. This strategy has put them on the map as a go-to for “flagship killer” smartphones. Now, a new contender, the Redmi K90, has popped up on the Geekbench platform, giving us an early peek at what could be their next big hit.
This device, likely a prototype, was tested under the model number 2510DRK44C using Geekbench 6.4.0. The results point to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite (Gen 4) chipset, boasting a top processing speed of 4.32 GHz. It’s worth noting that Qualcomm recently unveiled its newer Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 on September 25, 2025, which hits speeds up to 4.60 GHz. However, the Gen 4 still packs a significant punch.

The Geekbench scores for this Redmi K90 model were quite strong:
- Single-Core (tests single CPU core performance): 2,225 points
- Multi-Core (tests multiple CPU core performance): 7,949 points
Another version of the Redmi K90 also appeared on Geekbench, carrying the same Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. This one scored 3,080 points in single-core tasks and 9,382 points in multi-core tests. While these numbers might not match the very latest Gen 5 chip, they are still seriously impressive for any smartphone aiming for high performance.

Beyond its powerful chip, the Redmi K90 is set to include 16 GB of RAM. It will run on Android 16, which will likely be customized with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 software layer. Fast charging is also on the menu, with support for speeds up to 100 W.
Early rumors have hinted at even more premium features for the K90:
- A flat 5.9-inch OLED display with LTPS technology. This means sharper images and better power use at 2K resolution.
- A smooth 120 Hz refresh rate, showing motion at 120 frames per second.
- A 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for secure unlocking.
- A body crafted from high-quality materials.
- A very large 7,100 mAh battery to keep it going all day, or even longer.
If these rumored specs hold true, the K90’s status as a true “flagship killer” will be cemented. It looks like Redmi is gearing up to deliver serious competition to more expensive phones.

We expect the Redmi K90 series to launch in November 2025. This timing lines up with when the Redmi K80 series made its debut in November 2024.
