Brazilian esports team RED Canids has been eliminated from the VCT Ascension Americas tournament after losing both of its opening-day series, ending its bid for a coveted spot in the elite Valorant Americas league. The team suffered a swift exit from the competition following its defeats on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
RED Canids first faced Six Karma Esports, falling 2-0 in the best-of-three series. Six Karma secured victories on the Haven and Abyss maps, both with a score of 13-7.
The Brazilian squad then met Winthrop Esports in its second matchup. RED Canids managed to win one map, Abyss (13-6), but ultimately lost the series 2-1 after Winthrop claimed Corrode (13-6) and Lotus (13-10).
Following their elimination, RED Canids stated, “The fight for Ascension ends here. We fell in the play-in without managing to reach the much-desired spot in the Valorant Americas elite. We thank everyone who cheered and supported our team and our journey so far!”
The VCT Ascension Americas tournament aims to promote a Tier 2 team into the top-tier Valorant Champions Tour Americas circuit.
Six Karma Esports and Winthrop Esports advanced to the Swiss Phase of the tournament. Brazil will still have representation in the competition through Stellae Gaming and Team Solid.
