Red Bull ShowRun Madrid: schedules, route of Checo Pérez and traffic cuts

The effects on traffic will extend from Thursday at 9:00 p.m. to Sunday at 6:00 a.m. due to the assembly and disassembly work of the event. During Friday, also from 11:00 p.m., the cuts will occur in the right lane of the central trunk of the Paseo de recoletos (from Recoletos to Plaza de Cibeles); the occupation of first right lane of Calle de Alcalá (from the junction with Barquillo to Cibeles), and the closure to traffic of the side of the Paseo del Prado (from Juan de Mena to Cibeles).

On Saturday, the planned cuts from 3:00 p.m. are in the Plaza de Cibeles, Alcala street (between Plaza de la Independencia and Gran Vía), Paseo de Recoletos, Paseo del Prado (between Cánovas del Castillo square and Cibeles square) and Independence Square except for authorized movement from the Alfonso XII street towards Velázquez street.

Alternatives

The alternative itineraries for road traffic are, from east-west, Sor Ángela de la Cruz street, Cuzco square, Alberto Alcocer and Dominican Republic square; Reina Victoria street, Cuatro Caminos roundabout, Raimundo Fernández Villaverde, Joaquín Costa and Avenida de América; Princess and Marquis of Urquijo, Alberto Aguilera, Carranza, Sagasta, Génova, Plaza de Colón and Goya.

Another option is Puerta y Ronda de Toledo, roundabouts of Valencia and Atocha, Atocha tunnel, Paseo de la Reina Cristina or Avenida Ciudad de Barcelona; Puerta de Toledo and Ronda de Toledo, Embajadores roundabout, Embajadores street, Ferrocarril y Ramírez de Prado, Plaza del Amanecer in Méndez Álvaro and Méndez Álvaro street.

The north-south (east) connection goes through Pío XII avenue, Príncipe de Vergara street, Menéndez Pelayo avenue, Mariano de Cavia square and Mediterráneo avenue, while the north-south (west) connection goes from the north up to Raimundo Fernández Villaverde street, the proposed alternative axis runs along Bravo Murillo between Plaza de Castilla and the Glorieta de Cuatro Caminos.

Once in said roundabout there are two alternatives, either continue along Bravo Murillo, San Bernardo to Alberto Aguilera street (in a southerly direction) or go along Reina Victoria avenue, Guzmán el Bueno, Paseo de San Francisco de Sales, Plaza de Cristo Rey, Isaac Peral, Arcipreste de Hita, Meléndez Valdés, Princesa, Ventura Rodríguez and Ferraz streets, San Vicente slope and the M-30.

Public transport and municipal car parks

During the day on Saturday, 26 of the 28 EMT lines that operate in the area will be affected after 3:00 p.m. They are lines 001, 1, 2, 3, 5, 9, 10, 14, 15, 20, 27, 28, 34, 37, 45, 46, 51, 52, 53, 74, 146, 150, 203, E1 , C03 and SE-712. In relation to the owl service, during the night from Saturday to Sunday, 27 of the 28 lines will undergo route modifications, mainly due to disassembly tasks. As an alternative for public transport mobility, users may opt for the Metro lines close to the event venue: L2- Seville, Banco de España and Retiro, L4 – Colón and L9- Príncipe de Vergara. It is also proposed to use the Cercanías service from the Recoletos stations (lines C-1, C-2, C-7, C-8, C-10) and Sol (lines C-3, C-3a, C- 4a, C-4b).

Bicimad is also a mobility alternative with the operating stations at Calle Alcalá, 49; Paseo del Prado, 1; Antonio Maura street, 15; Marqués de Cubas, 25, and the one located in the Plaza de la Independencia.
