Realme Band 2 is official: does it make Xiaomi Mi Band 6 ‘shake’?

After a first generation without great success, Realme has just strengthened its space in the smartband segment. The Chinese manufacturer has officially unveiled the Realme Band 2 that promises to be a rival to the Mi Band 6, but whose design is reminiscent (a lot) of the Huawei and Honor alternatives.

Similarly to these alternatives, the new Realme Band 2 is closer to what you might call a smartwatch in terms of design. But in terms of price and features, it promises to face the great reference in the segment: the aforementioned Mi Band 6.

For starters, Realme Band 6 comes with a large 1.4 ”screen. It targets a resolution of 167 by 320 pixels and has a maximum brightness of 500 nits.

The brand also unveils the 50 integrated watch faces that will be available to you. As it is becoming more and more common, users will also be able to use a “photo that makes them smile” as the background of the screen.

Realme Band 2 now has an SpO2 sensor

As you would expect from such a product, you can count steps taken, sleep data, and heart rate. Compared to its predecessor, it now measures stress, blood oxygen levels (thanks to the SpO2 sensor) and menstruation.

The first Realme Band had support for only 9 sports modes, but the new model makes the jump to 90. In the image below, you can check the 14 that are available immediately, with the rest added after the updates.

Realme Band 2 with autonomy for 12 days

Like its competitors, this one lets you control your smartphone’s music or camera. The brand promises 12 days of autonomy, with a 204 mAh battery. It has Bluetooth 5.1.

For those who have doubts, Realme Band 2 works on devices with Android 5.1 or higher and iOS 11 or higher. To make the most of the usable, users will need to install the Realme Link app.

Realme Band 2, so far, has been presented only in Malaysia for an amount equivalent to € 35. There’s no word yet on the date for a global release, but like its predecessor, it will be a matter of time before that happens.
