In 2018, the year the brand was created, Realme would launch Realme 1 and Realme 2. Then, in 2019, we met the Realme 3 smartphones, as well as the Realme 5; Note that the number “4” has a bad connotation in Asia, associated with the word “death” and as such is avoided.

More recently, in 2020 we met the Realme 6 range, as well as the Realme 7 range. This year we met the Realme 8 smartphones, declared rivals of the Xiaomi Mi 11 smartphones, which we were now waiting for the Realme 9.

Unfortunately, Realme India and Europe CEO Madhav Sheth confirmed in remarks to the publication. GSMArena, that this year we will not have the expected Realme 9. Meanwhile, Xiaomi is finalizing the preparations for the presentation of its Xiaomi Mi 11T.

“After several conversations with chipset manufacturers, we decided to target the Realme 9 range for 2022, which would then reach users.” The executive’s statements to the aforementioned publication confirm its postponement for next year.

On the other hand, Madhav Sheth ensured that the brand’s other launches remain unchanged, with more products scheduled for 2021. The current range is still a good value bet, however. More specifically, Realme 8 costs from € 199.00 on Amazon.ES, being a recommendation of the online sales giant.

Still, for consumers it will be one less option in the mid-range segment. Especially for those looking for a good quality / price phone, this range would be a good buy this year-end.

In any case, they can still opt for Xiaomi Redmi, as well as the Samsung Galaxy A and Galaxy M. It should be noted that this manufacturer is far from the only one affected by the shortage of components.
