Real Sociedad wasted today the opportunity to isolate itself in the leadership of the Spanish football league, by allowing a draw in the reception to Eibar (1-1), in game of the 13th round.
Saturday’s defeat by Atletico Madrid against rival Real (2-0) paved the way for the team at the front, but without captain Oyarzabal, injured, and with David Silva, Portu or Willian José on the bench, the draw penalized.
Real Sociedad was even ahead of the scoring thanks to a very strong ‘shot’ from Barrenetxea, in the 20th minute, but Eibar reached equality, by Enrich, in the 65th.
The coach Imanol Alguacil had already brought in four players, but still resorted to David Silva, but Real Sociedad did not get the three points.
The team now shares the lead with Atlético, defeated by ‘Real Madrid’ in the ‘alternative’ Alfredo Di Stefano stadium (2-0). Both the teams now have 26 points.
