Four former Real Madrid youth players, including Raúl Asencio, are set to stand trial on charges related to recording and sharing intimate videos of two women, one of whom was a minor at the time. The alleged victims are said to be suffering from post-traumatic stress due to the incident.
The case came to light in September 2023 after the mother of the underage victim reported it to the authorities. Asencio and his co-defendants – Andrés García, Ferrán Ruiz, and Juan Rodríguez – have been formally charged.
Asencio had previously requested the case be closed, but his request was denied by the judge in February. In a TVE interview in March, he seemed unbothered, stating he was “quite calm” and that it’s “just a matter of deadlines.” He’s been focusing on his game, noting a change in pressure on the field.
The investigation has been ongoing, and the court has now moved forward with the prosecution. The case highlights the serious consequences of such actions and the impact on the alleged victims.
