Real Madrid Loses Key Player Ferland Mendy for Club World Cup Due to Injury.

Real Madrid’s injury woes continue to mount. After Antonio Rudiger’s partial meniscus tear, Ferland Mendy has been sidelined with a right quadriceps tendon rupture.

The 29-year-old French international suffered the injury during the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona, which the Catalan side won after extra time. Mendy underwent medical tests that confirmed the extent of the damage.

Mendy’s Season Over

The left-back is expected to be out for 10 to 12 weeks, effectively ending his season. He’ll also miss the Club World Cup. This is Mendy’s fourth injury this season, limiting him to 31 appearances with two assists.

According to the club’s medical report, Mendy won’t be available for the remainder of the season. The news comes as a blow to Real Madrid, already dealing with Rudiger’s surgery.
