Real Madrid have their sights set on the ideal replacement for Luka Modric

Real Madrid are eyeing Nicoló Barella as a possible replacement for Luka Modric, who is apparently set to leave the team next summer. With the prospect of Modric leaving, the Whites club needs to find a player with the necessary experience and quality to fill the void the Croatian legend will leave, and Barella is considered favorite to take that spot.

Modric’s decision to pack his bags is largely due to his dissatisfaction with the minutes coach Ancelotti is giving him. With few options in the team, the Croatian has started to consider offers from leagues such as MLS and Saudi Arabia, suggesting his exit is becoming increasingly likely.

Barella, in Florentino’s sights

Barella, currently at Inter Milan, has emerged as an attractive option for Real Madrid. With a contract valid until the summer of 2026 and an estimated market value of €75 million, his acquisition will not be cheap, but Madrid could be preparing an offer to secure his signing.

Although Real Madrid’s interest in Barella is not new as he was already on their radar two years ago, the interest could be greater this time as a replacement for Modric needs to be found. It is estimated that Inter could demand around 60 million euros plus variables for the Italian player, who had a solid season in Serie A with 2,379 minutes of action in 33 games and 2 goals and 5 assists.

Although there is no official confirmation, Real Madrid will look to lower Barella’s starting price and make his arrival at the Santiago Bernabéu a reality.
