Real Madrid is intensifying its pursuit of Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández, with manager Xabi Alonso reportedly identifying the Argentine international as a crucial component for his long-term sporting project despite a substantial asking price.
Reports from the English press indicate Alonso has personally requested the signing from club president Florentino Pérez. Alonso sees the former Benfica player as a key piece for his sporting vision at the Spanish club.
Chelsea, however, is unwilling to consider offers below 100 million euros, approximately $108 million USD. Fernández remains under a lengthy contract with the London club until 2032.
What began as a mere rumor surrounding a potential move for the midfielder has reportedly evolved into a concrete transfer possibility for Real Madrid.
