Euroleague Announces Official Calendar for 2024-25 Season
The Euroleague has released the official calendar for the 2024-25 season, featuring a minimum of 326 matches. Eighteen teams will compete for the title, including three Spanish teams: Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Baskonia. The goal is to sit on the throne that has been occupied by Panathinaikos.
Competition Schedule
The competition will start on October 3 and the regular season will run until April 11. The regular season will include eight grueling double-headers. The play-ins will take place on April 15 and 18, the playoffs will take place between April 22 and May 7, with the last date if any of the series go to the fifth game. The Final Four will be held between May 23 and 25.
First Match of the Season
The first match of the 2024-25 season will be in Berlin, where the previous one ended, and will pit ALBA against Panathinaikos, the team that was crowned champion in the German capital. On that first day, Madrid will visit Bayern, Barça will fly to Kaunas, and Baskonia, in Pablo Laso’s European debut, will face Partizan at the Buesa Arena.
Six Matches Between Spaniards
The first duel between Spanish teams will take place on the third day, when Baskonia will host Madrid on October 15. The first continental Classic will be on November 29 (matchday 12) at the Palau. On matchday 23, Madrid will host Baskonia, a week later the Vitorians will do the same with Barça, and the second Clásico, this time at the WiZink Center, will be on February 27.
Regular Season Finale
The regular season will close on April 11 with a Barça-Virtus and two departures for Madrid and Baskonia: Real Madrid players will visit Partizan, and the Vitorians will visit Armani Milan.
Euroleague Break
As last season, the top continental competition will be halted between February 7 and 27, a period in which the matches will be played Cup tournaments in each country and also the latest dates for the qualifying windows for Eurobasket 2025, in which the team will face Latvia (February 20) and Belgium (February 25).
