Real Betis will NOT make signings in January

The vice president of Real BetisJosé Miguel López Catalán, has confirmed that the idea is “stick with this template”. That is to say, except for an unexpected sale of some key piece, the Verdiblancos will have an empty winter market of signings. The economy of the Betic entity is going through a hard time, since the leaders have had to request long-term aid to try to settle their debts. This is the main reason that would lead him to keep the squad for January and wait for the summer transfer market to give the team another face.

Luiz Henrique and Luiz Felipe have been the only Real Betis signings for the start of the 2022/2023 season. Both, at zero cost, have slightly improved the image of Betis in defensive and offensive facets. The question revolves around whether these signings will be enough, added to the rest of the squad, to give them the long-awaited classification for the next edition of the UEFA Champions League.

To sign, you first have to sell

This is another of the ideas of Real Betis. The main one is to keep the squad in its entirety, but if there is an irrefutable offer, the club would be ‘forced’ to sell. In this way, the economy would be somewhat more settled for the winter market and could try to go for one of their wishes; such as Dani Ceballos, Aouar or Héctor Bellerín. Without a doubt, any of these signings would give a huge leap in quality to the team led by Manuel Pellegrini, who is targeting the Champions League.
