Star all-rounder Ben Stokes single-handedly led England to the 2019 ODI World Cup title, scoring an inning of 84 runs in the final game against New Zealand. He then retired from ODI cricket in July 2022. But he could come out of retirement in the face of the 2023 ODI World Championship. Extensive information has come to light in this regard.

Stokes will return

According to a report in The Telegraph, Ben Stokes is ready to return to the ODI team if England ODI captain Jos Buttler says so. However, there are some concerns about Stokes’ knee problem, which has bothered him for a long time. The Telegraph report went on to say that the Chennai Super Kings are ready to skip the 2024 IPL season. So that it can perform workload management. Stokes was bought by the Chennai Super Kings team in the IPL 2023 mini-auction for 16.25 crore rupees. Due to an injury, however, he was only able to play two games. When he was fit, he didn’t get a place in the starting XI for the remaining games. Stokes can now come out of retirement and compete in the ODI World Cup only if Butler asks him to play.

England have won many games

Ben Stokes has won many games for the England national team alone. He scored an inning of 52 runs against Pakistan in the final game of the 2022 T20 World Cup. He has played cricket in all three formats for England. Stokes has 2,924 runs in 105 ODIs and won 74 wickets.

I said that when I retired

Ben Stokes announced his retirement after playing his last ODI against South Africa last year and said it was an incredibly difficult decision. I enjoyed every minute playing for England with my team-mates. It was a wonderful journey. I can’t give 100% in this format. The England shirt deserves nothing less for anyone who wears it.
