RD goes to group C of the U20 Concacaf women’s qualifying phase

The Confederation of North, Central America and the Caribbean Football (Concacaf) held last Thursday the draw for the 2023 U20 Women’s Championship Qualifiers, in which the Dominican Republic and 31 other teams must seek their pass to the final phase of the Concacaf Championship to fight for a place in the FIFA Women’s World Cup in the category.

The Dominican Republic was anchored in group C of this qualifying phase along with Guyana, Suriname, Grenada and Dominica. This stage will be held from April 14 to 22, 2023, divided into six groups.

The groups were as follows:

Group A: Canada, El Salvador, Cuba, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Martinique, US Virgin Islands.

Group B: Haiti, Panama, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Curacao, Sint Maarten, Bahamas.

Group C: Dominican Republic, Guyana, Suriname, Grenada, Dominica.

Group D: Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Tobago, Cayman Islands, Antigua and Barbuda, Guadeloupe.

Group E: Jamaica, Honduras, Bermuda, Anguilla, French Guiana.

Group F: Costa Rica, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Saint Lucia, Belize.

The winners of each zone will qualify for the Concacaf U20 Women’s Championship Dominican Republic 2023 from May 24 to June 3 to opt for the available places to the World Cup together with the United States and Mexico that are already classified for this instance for being 1 and 2 in the Concacaf Ranking.
