RD exported first van of hamburger meat to the US

The Dominican Republic exported the first truckload of meat to the United States two weeks ago.

The information was offered by the president of Aproleche, Eric Rivero, when he specified that it was an export to the North American country of 40,000 pounds of hamburger meat.

When talking about the standards required for those purposes, he commented that the importing country approved the opening for that Dominican product to be marketed.

He also said that it was recognized that the Dominican Republic has the capacity to export that meat.

“Now the work remains to change and work in an export culture and enable slaughterhouses,” said Rivero in the company of the heads of the institutions of the Dominican livestock sector: Digega, Conaleche, Promegan and Confenagro.

In addition, he stressed that they work with small producers so that improvements are a constant.
