RCB Wins IPL 2025 Championship, Awards Announced

The Royal Challengers Bangalore are the champions of IPL 2025, defeating the Punjab Kings by six runs. Krunal Pandya’s impressive bowling in the final match earned him the Player of the Match award. The winners of all the awards, from the Orange Cap to the Purple Cap and the Emerging Player of the Tournament, have been announced. Notably, 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi won a shiny new ‘Tata Curv’ car.

Gujarat Titans’ Sai Sudharsan topped the batting charts with 759 runs, taking home the Orange Cap. His teammate, Prasidh Krishna, claimed the Purple Cap with 25 wickets. Sudharsan also won the Emerging Player of the Tournament award, receiving ₹10 lakh and a trophy.

The Most Valuable Player of the Tournament award went to Mumbai Indians’ Suryakumar Yadav, who scored 717 runs and received ₹10 lakh and a trophy. Vaibhav Suryavanshi was named the Super Striker of the Season, with a strike rate of 206.55 in seven matches, scoring 252 runs. He had the best strike rate in IPL 2025. SRH’s Kamindu Mendis won the Best Catch of the Season award, which left Kavya Maran impressed.

  • Fair Play Award: Chennai Super Kings (₹10 lakh and trophy)
  • Purple Cap: Prasidh Krishna (₹10 lakh and trophy)
  • Orange Cap: Sai Sudharsan (₹10 lakh and trophy)
  • Most Valuable Player: Suryakumar Yadav (₹10 lakh and trophy)
  • Runner-up Team: Punjab Kings (₹12 crore and shield)
